Legal Executive

Conor is an integral part of the ReganStein team offering GDPR and AML services to clients in his capacity as an expert legal researcher. In this role, Conor is responsible for mapping out what statutes are being relied on for grounds for processing under legal obligation and also looks at identifying changes in data protection and AML law to minimise processes already in place for business. He also assists with data protection impact assessments, legitimate interest assessments, and providing justifications of public interest.

Conor spent over a year as a legal executive with Transparency International Ireland and many of his cases concerning matters relating to data protection; in particular, misuse of personal data, data subject access requests, and legal entitlements arising under the Data Protection Acts. Furthermore, he kept in regular contact with the office of the data protection commissioner to research legislative provisions and entitlements under the Acts. He also has operated the organisation’s “Speak-up” helpline service- Ireland’s only free-phone service (funded by the Department of Public Expenditure) for anyone facing an ethical dilemma or considering reporting wrongdoing at work. He obtained strong analytical skills through conducting extensive legal research and analysis which helped inform the organisation’s policy positions and also managed their case/data management systems.

Conor is currently lecturing in contract law for the FE1 Solicitor Entrance examinations and for the King’s Inn’s entrance examinations and lecturing for the Diploma in Anti Money Laundering.
