Media Company: Using Agile Values and Practices to your Advantage

This medium sized media organization required guidance on how Agile values and practices could be implemented to benefit the execution of their internal product development plan. The focus was on:

• Flexibility and generating space for their teams to create balance between discovery and research and actually executing the work, keeping schedules, deadlines and budgets in mind
• Aligning remote teams to work collaboratively on problem solving

Leading Edge Group worked with the team to identify and select the most suitable Agile techniques and practices to start with. We reviewed some Agile meetings they already had in place and suggested improvements (i.e. Daily Scrum, Retrospectives) and also introduced more Agile practices to bring increased structure, rhythm and alignment to help them develop healthy routines. Working with the team we were able to propose other Agile techniques for building the required level of competence and confidence so that self-organization of the teams brought about successful outcomes. Project management structures were reviewed and we advised on the pros and cons of different solutions keeping business agility to the forefront of all recommendations.
