Practical Change Management Training

This course introduces practical change management models and techniques to ascertain and effectively manage change readiness and ensure effective ongoing stakeholder engagement and communication. The training focuses on providing insights and guidance on how best to prepare for and successfully manage “change” at people, process, service and technology levels across a department or organization.

Upon completion, participants will be able to:

  • Identify types of resistance to change
  • Identify relevant change management models and where they best apply
  • Develop effective techniques to overcome resistance to change
  • Develop and apply effective stakeholder engagement and communication plans

Practical Project Management Training

This course focuses on the key essentials for successful project management. It introduces a unique, simplified approach that maintains the rigour required to achieve all project deliverables. The training is underpinned with a continuous quality improvement philosophy that targets value-added activity, maximizes time and resources utilization, while minimizing risks.

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the key phases of project management and the deliverables associated with each phase
  • Establish the appropriate oversight for future projects
  • Identify the triple constraints of a project and when they occur
  • Identify project risks and manage issues throughout the project life cycle
  • Identify stakeholders and utilize techniques to align the project team and engage others when appropriate
  • Utilize techniques to navigate projects through to successful completion

Lean Quality Improvement White Belt Training

This training workshop introduces Lean quality improvement (QI) and its relevance for community-based health and social services.

The training will focus on key Lean quality improvement concepts and methodologies like 8 wastes, root cause analysis, fishbone, 5 Whys, PDSA/A3 and how they can be used to increase quality, efficiency and innovation.

Upon completion, participants gain the ability to identify improvement opportunities in the workplace.

Lean Quality Improvement Yellow Belt Training

  • May 28th, 2025
  • May 29th, 2025

Time: 9:00 am – 12:30 pm EST

The second workshop*, aims to create a basic proficiency in applying key tools and practices such as process mapping; standard work and 5S workplace organization to make small improvements in community health and social service settings.

The training will provide an overview of the core principles of Lean quality improvement (QI); differentiate between Lean and Six Sigma and outline the essential tools and practices that can be applied across the community health and social services sector to increase service delivery efficiency and quality; improve client and employee satisfaction and reduce waste.

*Prerequisite: Lean Sigma White Belt Certification

Lean Quality Improvement Green Belt Training

  • October 21st, 22nd and 23rd, 2025
  • October 28th, 29th and 30th, 2025

Time: 9:00 am – 12:30 pm EST

Having taken White and Yellow Belt training, you will develop an in-depth understanding of those essential Lean tools and practices that can be applied in community health and social services settings to increase efficiency and quality of service; improve access to services; increase capacity; improve satisfaction among staff and community and create an ongoing culture of continuous quality improvement. The Green Belt program will develop the capability and skills to lead improvement initiatives within your organization.

The program enables immediate application and benefit through a requirement to complete a workplace improvement project. This ‘apply-it now’ approach can generate tangible benefits for your organization. For example, recent Green Belt projects have focused on improving:

  • Digitize policy review cycle through maximizing existing IT infrastructure capabilities
  • Increase number of client satisfaction survey responses received
  • Optimize agency-wide evaluation surveys
  • Improve client experience by decreasing client wait times

As well as live instructor-led training, participants receive access to a subject matter expert mentor throughout the program. Our mentors have significant experience supporting public health organizations and will provide guidance on all aspects of the program – subject matter queries, project scoping and execution.

Prerequisite: Lean Sigma Yellow Belt Certification
