John is a seasoned Cybersecurity Architect with extensive experience in IP networks, software development, and engineering leadership. As the Founder and Principal Consultant at CyberSmart.ie, John delivers simple yet powerful cybersecurity solutions and training for Irish SMEs. His approach emphasizes listening to client needs to provide tailored solutions that address unique cybersecurity challenges.

Before founding his consultancy, John held senior roles where he led software development teams responsible for launching innovative products like automated checklists and DKIM email security controls. He also expanded software development teams, implemented cloud automation services, and prepared infrastructure for FEDRamp compliance.

John's career also includes leadership and technical roles at companies such as Facebook, Cumulus Networks, and Amazon, where he focused on network automation, security architecture design, and business continuity. He is passionate about continuing education and building a robust cyber community in Ireland.

John holds a Master's in Electronic and Computer Engineering (IoT) from Dublin City University and a Diploma in Applied Electronics from Technological University Dublin.

He also holds several certifications in the field of cybersecurity, including the Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) from ISACA and the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from ISC2. Additionally, he holds a CompTIA Security+ ce Certification.
