Flashback to 2011: Reeling in the Years – Irish seminar on change in height of economic crisis

Flashback to 30th November, 2011 when representatives from some of Ireland’s largest companies met in Fota Island Resort to explore the theme “Managing Change”. The event was hosted by a national networking group called the Court of Experts and sponsored by the Leading Edge Group. Remember, this event was held in the middle of the economic downturn and change was the number 1 item on the agenda.

Joe Aherne, CEO of the Leading Edge Group opened the event acknowledging the need for change in companies and highlighting the need for these changes to be strategic and inclusive of employees at all levels of an organisation.

Claire O’Brien, event organiser for the Court of Experts commented that all organisations operating in Ireland had been affected by the economic and political change of recent years. Claire was supported by Emma McSweeney in the running of the event.

Keynote speakers at the conference included Pat Falvey mountaineer, Polar explorer, expedition leader and corporate and motivational speaker, David Murray (An Post), Patrick Cunneen, Lighthouse Organisational Consultants, Nick Ustianowski (Pfizer) and Tom Fannon (Leading Edge Group).

A diverse range of organisations were in attendance at the event including representatives from Alcon Laboratories, Dairygold, Bord Gais, Elsevier, DePuy J&J, Bulmers, Veolia, Cara  Partners and Thermosafe.
