How Lean Training Can Revolutionise the Construction Industry

In January 2017 DPS Cork Operations as part of its CPD Internal Training Programme embarked on a Lean Construction Training Programme in association with Training Consultants Leading Edge Group and Enterprise Ireland.

The objective of the Training Programme was to introduce Lean Tools, Principles and Practices to personnel. Being practical training, it shows how implementing these tools into current operational processes helps highlight and reduce areas of waste in the processes and help DPS better serve their customers.

Cork Operations have successfully completed 2 training programmes with 21 personnel certified in Lean Start Yellow Belt and 18 personnel certified in Lean Plus Start (Green Belt Training) Programme.

Also as part of Continuous Improvement (CI) in DPS, Cork Operations has implemented a software cloud based package called CItric Cube, for managing all our Continuous Improvement activities. This package will enable DPS to:

• Implement a Real Time Dashboard for all CI work
• Hold documentation and progress reports on all CI projects
• User access to all personnel at designated levels
• Assess how well DPS are progressing on their Lean journey
