Lean for Food Processors Program

The B.C. Lean for Food Processors Program is an initiative from the British Columbia Ministry of Agriculture that supports specialized business skill development to enable processors to make more informed decisions, improve production capacity, labour productivity and strengthen their business.

As part of the Program, participating organizations receive on-site Lean training support and expert coaching on a Lean project targeting key improvements in areas such as labour productivity, production capacity, R&D and profit margins. This support is provided by a Qualified Business Consultant approved on the program. Leading Edge Group is delighted to confirm that we are one of the approved service providers on the Program.

Successful applicants receive funding of up to $8,000 to participate on the Program and will be required to pay a fee of $500 at the outset. The Ministry is now accepting applications for the first intake.

Eligible organizations are companies processing and packaging food, beverage or agricultural products in British Columbia with 51% or more of the direct cost of producing the product in its final form – i.e. the sum of raw materials, direct labour, variable processing and packaging – originating in the province.
