OneView Approach – Action Research Program
Lean Green OneView solves the problem of competing priorities across climate change activities, operational excellence and limited internal resources to deliver projects in an integrated roadmap to meet business and environmental goals.
It builds on 27 years of Lean and change management expertise matched with Climeaction carbon reduction focus to deliver an integrated approach that makes sense for businesses.
International Climate Action Plans are committing to a legally binding target of net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, with a 51% reduction by 2030. These ambitious targets can only be met with sector specific goals, including agriculture, transportation, and industry. The proposed research aims to investigate how environmental indicators can be fully integrated into a OneView Value Stream Mapping (VSM) tool at the organizational level. An enhanced (Green) VSM will capture Lean’ wastes and environmentally negative wastes/lost opportunities to meet business goals in one VSM for a Sustainable Business concept. The result of this project offers major enhancements based on a consolidated approach to organizing the business opportunities, identifying the potential to remove environmental wastes (energy, carbon, etc.) and meet environmental goals.
This research program is as a tripartite partnership between the Client, Leading Edge Group and the Research Partners, Chad Laux of Purdue University and Dr. Seamus O’Reilly of University College Cork. It will identify how Lean and Green concepts will be integrated into a sustainable model for development. Based upon validated approaches of research and action based on implementation of the Oneview Approach. The outcomes of this program will provide a roadmap to decarbonization, utilizing a diagnosis of the client’s value stream, based upon real-world benchmark assessment of state-of-the-art Lean and Decarbonization efforts. The results will be standardization of interventions learned from implementing the Oneview Approach to a Low Carbon Business and a capability to continue a pathway to reach your decarbonization goals[1].
